Need; lacking:

2016

Need; lacking: reveals the mental and emotional tribulations within the context of my past and current familial relationships. Physical materials enshroud the body in order to reveal the layers of protection, restriction, and manipulation. Elements, such as nylon and fabric, mimic the skin and become tempered; thread and yarn restrict and consume the body. In conjunction with the tangible print or object, I use certain components, such as liquid latex, in order to create a corporeal connection to the subject matter. My physical interaction with these materials in relation to the body, print, and objects becomes a representation of the distress that comes with this emotional state.
